I have one here which will fit,
but unfortunately it is the Rallye specific version with the cast iron housing (as opposed to the Passat one with the cast aluminium housing
& while it is perfectly compatable with the CDG gearbox it will cost considerably more to buy as it is a Rallye specific partChris SModeratorYou will need to save the mk 4 caliper flexy pipes as the fitting are different to the Rallye calipers & Syncro drums
Chris SModeratorThe Left & Right Rallye handbrake cables are identical apart from some extra heat shielding on the on (I think) the left hand one where it runs a bit close to the exhaust.
the calipers pictured should fit without problems, you could see how the mk4 pads sit on the Rallye discs I can’t remember which I used on my conversion.
the only gain with the 12mm disc is that it does not get so hot & fade as quickly as the 10mm one can.
Chris SModeratorbtw Why not make an toe in & camber adjustable rear axle when you are going this far?
I don’t know if you can see the photos? as the site is undergoing maintenance atmChris SModeratorI thought my wife was understanding, but this just takes it to a whole level!
Are there any jobs going where you work?Chris SModerator5 cylinder?
this is a very under rated car & personally I would love to own one
btw it has an Audi set up with a longitudinally mounted engine (not transverse like Golf!) a la Audi Quattrohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Rpd6e8sjUY
Chris SModeratorlooking good, if I can do anything to help? you know where I am.
Chris SModeratorFrom what I can remember (it was a long time ago) everything just lined up without problems, but that was with the Rallye parts
Chris SModeratorWell thats a new one!
Chris SModeratorChris SModeratorhope this helps “rear diff vacuum system”

Chris SModeratorHi lloyd, It was good to chat with you the other evening, that is one nice looking Country you have there.
Q) Do you know the most likely cause for the donut bolts to work loose?
(apart from not being torqued up correctly)A) The donut is on the wrong way round yes they will fit either way! so that the locating lugs are not engaged in the corresponding depressions in the transfer box & propshaft flanges, the drive is then being transmitted through the actual bolts instead of the lugs, usually they shear off making a mess of everything but it also seems that they can unscrew themselves as you found.
Chris SModeratorChris SModeratorPlease Andy, do make a build thread,
Compared to it’s heyday it has been to quiet round here for to long, but it is picking up now thanks to you & others. – Chris sChris SModeratorThat is absolutely correct, both of the caliper carrier sets here on ebay are not Syncro ones but are for the 2wd cars
both sets are 2wd versions
