Well I just spoke to rallye ronan on the phone and there is a possibility he may also be up for this []
And not only that he also has a friend who owns one of the 70 odd 16v G60 Syncro Limiteds! [:p] drool drool [:p]Chris SModeratorquote:

Yes, as you have to get the job up to temperature and the oil seals etc wont stand up to the temp required to weld the casting.
Chris SModeratorOk I am now the Benelux agent for Easyweld. well starting Jan 1st I am the agent, thats THE agent not an agent, all Easyweld sales and deliveries to Belgium, Holland and Luxemburg will be going through me, hopefully so will the German and French ones later in the year. Longlife exhausts do a 4 to 1 Branch manifold for the syncro. £250 fitted, and a custom stainless pipe for around £400.
Probably my next route of upgrade seeing as after I fitted a VAG syncro back box the car no longer idles when it is cold. (Seems blocked almost)
MK2 ’89 RHD syncro Golf, Jade GreenChris SModeratorHurrah for Weber DCNF carbs, have you had yours set up yet? I will be running a very similar 2.0L setup so if you can email me the jet etc details it will save me a lot of(expensive)and duplicate work before the final fine tuning on a rolling road. chris
Due to unforseen circumstances (my car caught fire) my never fitted Weber DCNF Carbs are now for sale.Chris SModeratorIt varies depending on which motor you have, the GU and GX both supposedly have 90bhp
the Syncro GT has the 1P motor with 98bhp, while the G60 has 160 bhp.
The VW performance figures are as follows
GU (carb) 178 kph = 111.25 mph, 0 to 100kph (62mph) in 11.3 seconds
GX (K-jet) 175 kph = 109.375 mph, 0 to 100kph (62mph) in 12 seconds
1P (digi2) 180 kph = 112.5 mph, 0 to 100kph (62mph) in 11.1 seconds
PG ( G60) 213 kph = 133.125 mph, 0 to 100kph (62mph) in 8,3 secondsChris SModeratorbtw, If you dont fancy to drive yourself, you can can always get the ring taxi
some ring videos here http://www.8200rpm.com/index.php?p=1&t=3&lang=nl
scroll down till you see NurbergringChris SModeratorChris SModeratorPascal is trying that at the moment after I gave him a rod to try with.
Chris SModeratorWithin the next couple of days I will be repairing a golf2 watercooled oil cooler, so will post photos then
Chris SModeratorHere is a photo of a syncro compatable motor with the the mounting lugs highlighted, btw most motors have the lower lug, its the top one thats usually the problem!
Chris SModerator[] My starter kit has arrived here today, I am to busy to get to play with it much before the end of next week though []
Chris SModeratorI think nearly everybody with a rod change box has a broken lug on the T drive, some just havn’t found it yet!
