nutter4x4Participant
Dbw pedal box
and the starting to fit the loom, help!!
nutter4x4Participantstarted on the loom today, first loom, ive built , gulp
nutter4x4Participantfew more pipes added, soon have it piped then it`ll just leave the loom, not looking forward to that
nutter4x4Participantnutter4x4Participantnutter4x4Participantnutter4x4Participantwell after taking the gearbox on and off at least 3 times in the same day, bit of machining and finally i get to fit a single mass clutch without it jamming, re fitted the engine and box,
cut the slam panel, redone the mounting points for the intercooler and rad, i now have enough room for a 12″ fan
mounted the gear shift and low and behold with a small amount of modifying the centre console from a syncro fits on the rear gear shift mountings and under a mk2 dash, sticks out about 1/2 an inch i can live with thatnutter4x4Participantluckily i think i`ve found a single mass flywheel today, now need some time to fit it
nutter4x4Participantits for transferring heat to the rear foot well, my syncro has one of these too
nutter4x4Participantunfortunately i`m going to have to pull it out again, the standard 10mm spacer i`ve used to clear the dual mass clutch has thrown it all out at the front, i thought i might get away with it but it was only so i could set it up to get it running so looks like i`m going to have to wait for a aftermarket clutch but you can now see the jist of it
nutter4x4Participantnutter4x4Participantive finished swapping parts over to the 2litre block now, bolted up the box, next job bolt it all in the car, hopefully if i remember i`ll try and do pics stage by stage,
nutter4x4Participantmaybe maybe not wont know until i try it the driveshafts are in the same position as a standard mk2, all of the cast iron section of the gearbox is behind the shafts hence right back in the tunnel and it still has enough room in the front for a rallye cooler and rad, this is one of the reasons why i stuck with the 20v 4 pot, also you can see the prop drop to the floor how much shorter it to the standard syncro prop, so the engine isnt that much further forward yet more central because i`ve used equal length shafts, surprisingly unlike the audi a4s and passat shafts which are 20mm difference in length, i`m using all standard parts, hubs, driveshafts, steering rack and wishbones,
nutter4x4Participantnot needed now , they dont fit
nutter4x4Participanti have 2, one with the holes and one with out, can you just check the part no. you need, the one with the holes for the leccy windows has been cut about but i think i`d rather keep it i need the switches out of it and its snapped at the side but the one that hasnt got leccy window is a little dusty but untouched and good condition
