Sorry, I forgot you have a Country I will see what I can find when I get home.
At the front you can fit any Golf 2 2wd Shocker/spring assembly, its the rear thats the syncro only fitment.
At the moment I am at my sisters in Southport Lancashire, back home on Sunday
I will check when I get back to Holland next week for you.
Its not about the power as the 2E only has 115bhp, but it has a lot more torque for digging yourself out of holes!
Why not go for a 2 liter 2E motor?

It sounds like your internal 3rd gear selector is a bit worn.
No it wasnt needed, it sat tightly against the shokker seat lip, as you can see in photo 4,
it was made from 3mm thick steel tube so it wasn’t going anywhere.
