The gear ratios are slightly different between the ASU & CBB gearboxes,
also the ASU box has a cast iron transfer box & the CBB has a cast aluminium one.
Gear ratios are
—- ASU
CBB
1 — 3.77 to 1 — 3.77 to 1
2 — 2.21 to 1 — 2.21 to 1
3 — 1.34 to 1 — 1.36 to 1
4 — 0.97 to 1 — 0.96 to 1
5 — 0.79 to 1 — 0.76 to 1
F/D 3.68 to 1 — 3.64 to 1
All Rallye gearboxes are ASU code
The correct one P/N 191919051BJ is available direct from classic parts for a lot less money

It is different, but you can adapt the 2wd sender to fit the (deeper) Syncro tank,
there are some photos on here somewhere.
Good idea,
btw VW have a balance weight for the cablechange changer mech, P/N 357 711 188A
its a similar idea as fitted to the Golf 3 rodchange box & smooths out the shifting.
Apart from being a lot stronger the 02C box will give you higher ratios so reducing your revs at high speed.
No, the Passat ones are longer/thicker, its the centre section thats the same part.
The end flanges where the Donuts fit
Yes Peloquin do make a LSD for the 02C box, 02C diff here http://www.peloquins.com/products_02C.html
however you can fit this http://www.peloquins.com/products_80.html to your 020 box
Hope this helps
Congratulations on passing! any photos of your door mod please?
Its a std one not from a Rallye, Sorry
