Fuel gauge sender unit

Hi,

The sender on my golf seems to be shot, only showing half tank full even after topping it off.
I looked at the ETKA but can not find the p/n for it.
Does anyone know if the sender is identical in 2wd and syncro?

It is different, but you can adapt the 2wd sender to fit the (deeper) Syncro tank,

there are some photos on here somewhere.

what is the main differences between these?

because i run out of fuel when the gauge says i’m on reserve and when i got a full tank of gas, the needle is so high i cannot see it
