the weld method often works, the hear from welding can actualy free the remains of bolt up itself.
drilling steel bolts out ali is never fun
no such userParticipantBuy ’em off the shelf at most auto factors.
For the drum cars this is the part number: 823407615A
Disc cars, the part is: 357407615 (which is far more common, across loads of the VW range).
Not entirely sure what the difference is, but my car, with rear discs is running on hubs that were being used with drums without issue.
no such userParticipantWeld nuts to the remains and then turn out. Might take a few tries, but *should* work.
Alternatively, flat off the remains, centre-pop the CENTRE of the remains and then drill out the remains of the stud. Start smaller than you want to get to and then move up in drill size.
You *should* be able to get it to the point where there’s only a very thin remaining quantity of stud. It might well be possible to collapse this in on itself, or even just tap round to wind it out.
How hard can it be, eh? []
no such userParticipantbolt prop up then lift and pull manifold onto head, fit’s RHD with no bulkhead mods dose require cabel change gearbox tho as one down pipe is where shift rod would be. also the unused bracket on steering rack had to go for more clearance.
ont he last engine, with std map it pulled 173 bhp 150 lbs theis enigne with chip feels more lively
no such userParticipantthe ABF manifold comes mighty close to the transfer case nasty bend to miss it
you want smomethign like the one on mine
no such userParticipantquite a while ago now, think the clocks i dismanteld were late passat or corrado.
was just putting 20vt and 6 spd (2wd) into mk2 for someone for beer and parts money. conversion of littel intrest to me so dint really take note of much
no such userParticipantummm why not just fit speedo from another vw with electric pickup to the golf 2 clocks?
no such userParticipantFor reference, I’ve fitted Golf3 GTI handbrake cables and calipers to my G2 Syncro – works just great.
no such userParticipanteven if not cv joint and skim it down ? there is not much differance in width between 90mm and 100mm it is possible to fit 100mm joints to 90 mm shafts it’s just a botch as theres no clip retaing them so you have to put a blob of weld on to retain shaft ( a botch i know )
or if you dont want to machene the whoel face just recess the cenet part of the joint to accsept the clip.
no such userParticipant350 bhp trough frount wheels of a mk2, lack of traction will piss you off rarely get to use the power
no such userParticipantiirc the syncro box has same gears as the diesel one in it, but with a diffrent (lower) final drive so overall ratos simalar to gti, may be worth fitting diesel crown anf pinion to give a more sutable final drive ratio else you may find it’ll be revving hard for a diesel on motorway.
if your not planning on doing standing starts ect rod box should cope.
no such userParticipantdiesel is all torque reving above 4k isnt optimal tho
no such userParticipantcan provide with details of loom or modify one for you.
spoke about this on another forum if want 16v info will put up there as they don’t like 16v motors here
no such userParticipantsame mounts fit cabel box, i has 1.3 gearbox and frount mount g60 rear engine mount works a treat
no such userParticipanta 1z or simalar will give you 90 diesel drinking donkeys that don’t need meany wires, never put a diesel in a syncro. but fitted plenty of vag diesles to random plant equipment there ain’t meany wires at all
