lol
ld50Memberok – as I say it’s not mega urgent but I’d like to try and sort if possible. I drove it for a bit while I had no syncro or gti and I think i ran it a little bit ragged…not least by filling it full of 02c boxes and hurtling back from holland in it on our last gearbox run
ld50Membernext to the one at edwins perchance? How cheap is cheap? we’re talking beer money here…
ld50Memberexcellent. Thanks danny – so at least It’s driving more or less how it should be – that’s fine for me to crack on then
ld50Membera further thought occurred to me before I try this – does the K-jet have anything like a “limp home” mode? and if so how would I find out if it’s running in it?
As far as I recall there is an ecu in the usual place but quite what it controls I don’t fully understand (yet).
ld50MemberSorted thanks chriss
ld50Memberthere’s a few more pics of them in the photos too
(no beaut but still)ld50Membertc I thought that’s how the motor sits on the coutry chassis – I know it deffo doesn’t sit at normal height compared to a regular syncro.
ld50MemberAs far as I was aware, the G60 (cable-shift) gearbox and rallye rear diff are about as strong a setup as you’ll get without going haldex…even switching to cable-shifted box is enough hassle though!
ld50Membersmart job! You must be chuffed with your handiwork that book’s well worth the read isn’t it.
ld50Membernow that sounds like a fun idea
ld50Memberok thanks – I wasn’t sure whetehr the vac related to the load or the rpm or both. I guess I can fit it and see what happens… suppose it’ll be pretty obvious if the power drops off.
ld50Memberthat woudl be the unidentified lead I had when respraying the engine bay on the gti – photo of it here:

ld50Membergood progress – I like those rims
ld50MemberAce write-up chris – I’ll be followign that soon on my syncro hopefully I discussed this with TC and I think he mentioned undoing the main 31mm bolt with the wheel/tyre still on the ground might be an option if there’s no brake-pusher to hand.
