HouseyParticipant
i must be completly insane. had one of those “what the hell am i doing” moments when i was in the garage today..
found myself cleaning the tranny on the G60 with diesel and a toothbrush lol, atleast it gets really clean
HouseyParticipanti’ve replied to your mail read it
HouseyParticipantonly problem is that the seller does not use paypal, and as german ppl usually don’t want to ship to norway, i’m pretty **** out of luck
HouseyParticipantnot my week, month or even year but i’ll manage
i’ll get it to work. constantly searching ebay for ecu for the abs with EDL. still no luck tho
HouseyParticipantah, okay that might be i also thought it would fit, but, i saw that it didn’t when i took it of
but, doesn’t matter. won’t take any longer to do the swap
HouseyParticipantwell, i can atlease confirm that the subframe of the passat does not fit the golf
that is because that the subframe mounts on the passat is slightly angeled. and on the golf, they are straight
so, i’m going to have to reuse the golf subframe etc
HouseyParticipanti actually had a pretty good pic of it too :p
Good luck
HouseyParticipantthe easiest way to spot it is to look at the rear swaybar, as its connected to that
HouseyParticipantheres some photos. first out, the passat abs unit, partially cleaned. (not finished cleaning it up )
Golf ABS unit
HouseyParticipantsucks to be me.. the passat is equipped with electronic dif lock..
so, i have to source a new abs harness and abs ecu
got a few pics, will upload them as soon as i can find my password for the domain lol
HouseyParticipanti’m just full of questions, and here’s another one :p
the fuel vapor “rebreather” thingy, is this neccesary? and ifnot, how can it be deleted? just plug all the vacuum outlets on the inlet manifold and on the throttlebody? and remove everything and disconnect/cut the wires to the magnetic valve that controls the fuelvapor?
HouseyParticipantokai thats great :p
took the abs pump out today, havn’t had the chance to compare the two abs units yet, as the golf is parked outside, and i’m too lazy :p
i’ve cleaned the unit well, so it looks like new :p
HouseyParticipanti was thinking more about that the width will be too much to set the right camber
HouseyParticipantbeen doing some more thinking..
if i replace the subframe on the golf with the one from the passat, which has i wider track, wouldnt that affect my camber? 2.5cm pr side is alot
HouseyParticipantPassat is 1990. or. well. its manufactured between august and december 1989 somwhere, i have that info in the passat in my garage
The golf is manufactured april 1990
