Participanthmm. was fiddling around with the brake conversion again today, just felt like testing something, i’ve modified the bracket for the abs/clutch mc then i got a choppy pedal
so, tried the original brakebooster bracket, with no mount for the clutch mc. still choppy..
so. either it could be the booster. which only has its original vacuum behind the diaphragm. and no vacuume in the front.
or it could be the brake MC which has no fluid in it which needs lubrication.. going to test more tomorrow.
it won’t get any better even when i get the new bracket i’ve ordered.. need to figure this out

Participantbetween 20 to 30 amps? each side? thats between 40 to 60 amps in total. 60amps on 12v will get you at most 720watt. thats a lot for a windscreen
wonder if they will ship to norway
Housey
Participantyou can always use the original rear defroster switch
using that to activate a relay. how many watts are the screen? doubt you need any more then one 30amp relay with a 20amp fuse. you can draw a hell of a lot of juice through this setup
but, it all depends on the wattage of the screen itself
anyhow, you who have this installed, how does it work? is it worth it?
since i live in norway, this would be great for me
as we have more winter here then summer

Participantwell. couldnt wait until tomorrow. so i went back to the garage. and started the modifying process. didn’t turn out too well. can’t get the back rod centered, making the brake pedal choppy.
so, i’ve ordered a new bracket, new fluid reservoir, and a new lid w/sender from my garage neighbour (who is in germany every once in a while to get parts, as he sells original spare parts)
he will be going down to germany the 2nd week in june. picking up the parts i ordered from him
and while i’m at it, god damn theres soo much more room down there when i’ve removed the abs
i love it

Participantstarted to remove the ABS today. got the abs unit out. and found that the bracket is different from abs to “manual” brakes.. the abs brackets has 3 holes, and the manual brake booster has 4
hopefully i’m able to modify the existing bracket, as the top two ones line up with one another
will have a look at that tomorrow

Participantgot myself a new brakebooster today, only in the need for a brakefluid reservoir with outlet for the clutch MC

Participantwell, thanks chris, but my mind has been set [
] i’m going to remove the abs [
] meaning less electronic **** that can fail
Housey
Participantbut, when i think about it, the abs didnt work when i first got the car. and i know the ABS unit is OK. . hmm
probably is the ECU, which means i need a new ABS ECU
