HouseyParticipant
how can this be obtained by vw classic parts? :
HouseyParticipantthe audi cab was available with quattro
and a ton of other configurations..
HouseyParticipantno updates in a while, still waiting for my exhaust tools
but, heres some pics i took today. of this ugly ass car :p
but hey, its working. only exhaust left now
HouseyParticipantbrakes are now fully working as it should great
only thing now is the exhaust i’ve ordered some tools to fix my exhaust. need to fine-tune the coilovers tho. but i want to have a little test ride to settle them a bit first
things are finally going the right way
HouseyParticipantwell, after a week of trial and error on my handbrake cable issue, i’ve found the reason, i need orignal calipers. not the ones i’ve got, which are OEM nor close to, they fit, but the handbrake mechanism is different
hopefully my brakes will be back on tormorrow so i can bleed them properly
HouseyParticipanti don’t know what cables i got, but the numbers was matching G3 syncro w/dics
i’ve got a hold of rallye wires now gonna try them today
HouseyParticipantand. MK3 cables are not the right ones…..
they are 20cm too long on the inside. and 15cm too long on the outside
meaning, when its mounted correctly. they won’t fit
bummer
HouseyParticipanti’ll add, if you are going for discbrakes, you will have to use disc-brake cables as the ends are different from drums
bet most of you know this, but i’m just adding the info
i have G3 cables, going to try them on tomorrow
HouseyParticipanthardline is 275mm long. with m10x1 nuts i both ends just for your information
so now thats sorted out :p
HouseyParticipantthats how i’m gonna do mine aswell how long is the hard line? or did you make it yourself? i’ve found the rear flex hose now. and according to etka the one for rallye is 275mm long.
and regarding the back plates. they usually rust away in notime here. and i’ve never had any problems without them
HouseyParticipantwell. got to do some crap in the garage today. using my anglegrinder to grind the drum backplate of. had to cut that in various places in order to grind the bolt heads off (rusted out bolts)
mounted the disc. and caliper along with new pads
the parts i need is fairly obvious on this pic
i need the hardline that you see point upwards there. and the hose from that to the caliper
actually an easy swap since the mounting points for the caliper-carrier is already there
emergencybrake cables will come tomorrow
oh, and a pic of most of the crap that was inside the drum :p
HouseyParticipantneed some etka help here, can’t seem to work out which hoses/lines i need
i need both hoses that goes from the calipers and over the control arm, and the hard brakeline from the flexible hose that goes onto the controlarm
of anyone understand what i mean (both rear hose/pipes)
HouseyParticipanti’ve just bought the cables for golf 3 syncro with discs and i’ve bought calipers
going to find the brake lines i need tonight. giving the partnumbers to a friend of mine who works in a parts store get some niceprices from him
