HouseyParticipant
yeah, it sucks, but, i’ve bought a new one :p
HouseyParticipantaaaaand i ****ed up my front engine mount today
it was a bit out of alignment, so i was going to undo the bolt and move it back. but the bolt broke. and i can’t get it out. too much rust. sooo. i twisted the **** out of the mount, so its defective
that sucks
HouseyParticipantgreat, then i’ll order some of them
got my front crossmember bushings mounted today kinda pain in the ass to do. but with the use of a long bolt, some washers and a 36mm socket, it got them into the grooves
so. all bushings are now new, other then the rear diff hanger bushing
kinda getting somwhere now
still needing some 4mm dowel-pins tho havent gotten that far yet. but, i will eventually
HouseyParticipanthmm
seems to me that i need new 12pt bolts for the rear doughnut..
i’ve got the M10x40 bolts. and by the looks of it, i need the M10x42. since they appear to be too short
i’m using the rallye doughtnut with the balance weight (1H0 521 307)
the bolts i’ve got are numbered: N 903 696 02 (M10X40) and the ones i believe i need is N 905 222 01 (M10X42)
can anyone confirm this?
HouseyParticipantdon’t think there is any need for that as for now its in good shape
HouseyParticipantbushings are all in. and mounted
Powerflex bushings for the main beam
new bushings from the dealer on the control arms, along with new bolts
Redone all the brake lines, used CuNi (Copper nickel) brakelines
I like new
paint is chipping away. used por-15, but i’ve been too lazy to degrease and clean well enough, ohwell, i could not care less
wise-grip works for just about anything. lol
there is some light in the end of the tunnel now
HouseyParticipantfinally, the last of the bushings came today. so now i got all new bushings in the rear aswell how great
the only old bushing in the rear now is the diff bracket one
bought new bolts for the controlarms and mainbeam while i was at it. just to have done it, the old ones are rusty as hell, and had to be cut since they had rusted stuck inside the bushing tube
HouseyParticipantbending braklines to fit to the BPV is a real pain in the ass. that i can tell you right know its easier since i don’t have the propshaft and exhaust in the way. but still very hard to make this look neat
HouseyParticipantfinally, bushings arrived today which is great, because i can now mount the rear main beam back onto the car along with the diff.
and then run the brake lines from rear to the front of the car.
only waiting for the control-arm bushings now
HouseyParticipantno bushings arrived yet damn
HouseyParticipantgot the brakelines on the mainbeam fixed today, hopefully they won’t leak
still waiting for my correct bushings. starting to assbmle it when they arrive which should be sometimes next week
HouseyParticipantso. got my new bushings today. or. so i thought, but the brits sent me the wrong ones i got the 4 small ones for the front subframe. mailed the seller, and he said to me to keep the ones i’ve got, and he would send the correct ones today thats what i call customer service candrenterprises1 on ebay btw. great ppl to deal with
HouseyParticipanti usually use jack-stands proper ones aswell, rated for 6 tonnes each. its good to have the height they provide
HouseyParticipantone thing is for sure, i’m NOT going to use alu bushings i’m going to drive this car a bit too often for that. and i’m getting older by the minute
HouseyParticipantwell.. bushings. its safe to say that they are severly worn
i could push them out with my hands (i’m talking about the main beam bushings, the ones on the control arms had to be burned out)
so. heres some pics of the bushings, or. whats left of them anyways
so. good thing i’m going to change them not that there is too much movement in the rear beam. but new bushings are always good
