while the ZF rack has raised cross rib stiffening,
a look on ebay will show the differences.Chris S

there is no separate allocation for filling coffers, it takes oil from the gearbox, rear axle shall have refills Inga on the left side just above the drain plug.
ahussyncr. you have like half right
some of the early editions actually own filling for allocation checkout

ModeratorASU code gearbox is from a Rallye & was made in 2 versions, early type without oilways, & the later type with oilways.
Your full gearbox code indicates you have have early type box which does NOT have the 2 oilway feeds into the transfer box (see photo)
btw all Rallye transfer box casings were made out of cast iron, rather than cast ally of the Passat transfer box
Early type (without oilways suitable for your gearbox) on the right.

ModeratorAll the O20 boxes use the same 20/21-21/20 ratio in the transfer box & rear diff.

ModeratorThe ABS wiring is a totally apart harness, the relays etc just clip on top of the fuse box.

Moderator1. Subframes – use the country subframe & engine mountings
2. Upgrade the clutch – the O2C Rallye box uses a 228mm clutch you will need a suitable flywheel
3. Rod shift to Cable conversion – Easy as the cable change lever box uses the same mountings as the rod change
4.LHD to RHD issues – the MK 2 LHD ABS master cylinder will not fit in a RHD car as the engine is in the way
5. Matching running gear and codes ratio’s etc? – both the Rallye & Passat items you have are compatable as is the original rear diff 20/21 ratios
6. ABS – Will the mk3 stuff fit or not bother? – I dont know for sure, but if its off a RHD car then it may well fit, please let us know if it does or doesn’t
7. Gearbox mounting brackets – engine mounts etc? – see above
8. Wich drive shafts and prop shafts etc. prop shaft is ok you need a pair of Rallye front shafts
9. rear disc conversion from drums – you really should read this http://www.vwsyncro.co.uk/data/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=119
10. power steering – should swap over without problems
11. what wiring to remove and swap etc. ECU? you need the ECU & harness from the engine you are fittingChris S
