ModeratorCar back on the road tonight (hopefully)& it wasnt the transfer box after all, the 3 bolts holding the front donut onto the propshaft had snapped clean off! also 1 of the bolts holding the donut onto the transfer box was broken off as well.
The reason? well the right rear motor mount has been a bit weak for a while & I was hoping it would last till the new engine is ready, but obviously it hasn’t and this has stressed the propshaft & flange(through the donut) at right angles to its allowable movement and has eventually broken the bolts.
I wouldn’t mind but I have had the uprated G60 Syncro motor mount on order for over a month & it finally turned up yesterday along with 5 of the 6 donut bolts I ordered.

How much of it do I need ?
1″ x 50ft = We would recommend when wrapping a pipe with a 2 inch outside diameter you will need 8 foot of wrap for every 1 foot of pipe.
2″ x 50ft = We would recommend when wrapping a pipe with a 2 inch outside diameter you will need 4 foot of wrap for every 1 foot of pipe.

ModeratorHere is what you need
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ceramic-Fiber-Wrap-Exhaust-Manifold-Header-bandage_W0QQitemZ300199243661A thin ally plate makes a good heatshield when spaced of the body a bit, I cut mine from an old aluminium sink/draining board unit I bought from a 2nd hand shop for a fiver,
As for the VHT paint, yes it works very well, I always paint my scooter exhaust with it and then retouch it up before every winter and I havn’t ever replaced an exhaust in 7 years of owning a scooter, unlike most scooter owners whose exhausts only lasts for 2 winters max, but do give it 2 or 3 coats as 1 isn’t thick enough to gve much protection.

I was under the car last night, I have big block of metal attached to the subframe (just in from of where the diff will go) that will needs to be removed. Think its some kind of balance or vibration damper. Looked on VAGCAT and the Rallye does not seem to have one.
Can also confirm the 16v 9a lump has the mounting lugs for the tbox bracket, as I attached the bracket last night [
]
That is a balance weight & counterbalances some of the weight of the transfer box

ModeratorThe ABS ring is the same size on all models, but the larger bearing pushes the sensor housing further out so the sensors have to be longer to sit at the same distance from the sensor ring.
