ModeratorNo it wont fit, just email me the drive lug diameters & I will send you one that fits both sides

ModeratorOriginally when the propshaft was built by VW all three sections were balanced in one go after they had been bolted together, but now we are nearly 20 years on & seeing as how your rear section has already been removed and with the line up probably not marked, its not going to make very much difference, especially with the heavy balance weight (damper) on the rear donut which is the one to use btw.
Chris S
ModeratorYes, Just swap the last section over, you will need a different donut though, give me a shout with the drive flange sizes when you are ready.
Chris S
ModeratorI am not sure, but I think you need at least the ABS wheel senders.

ModeratorAccording to ETKA any Passat VR6 Syncro (motor code ABV) from late 94 to early 97 will be ok.
Chris S
ModeratorYes, you could source everything in one hit with a Passat VR6 Syncro, you would need to use the Golf front subframe & steering rack (unless you wanted a wide track front?) and shorten or swap the propshaft as the Passat one is too long, also the handbrake cables would need changing for the Golf Syncro ones, other than that though you should be fine.
Chris S
ModeratorThe 2wd rear discs are totally different & wont fit the Syncro.
The VR6 gearbox (transfer box) is only compatable with the VR6 rear diff.
The Passat rear diff is identical to the Golf one, I am running one on mine, the VC unit had larger diameter drive lugs & that is the only difference
Chris S
ModeratorYes, you can keep everything as the front end is identical.
Chris S
ModeratorYes they tend to burn the inner rear boot on the drive shaft.
Chris S
ModeratorSupersprint do a cat back system.
Chris S
ModeratorThe rear subframe is interchangable between the Golf 2, Golf 3, & Passat 35i al long as you use the correct side mounting brackets,
its the triangular swing arms that control the track, have a look here [:p]http://www.vwsyncro.co.uk/data/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=459
I have a wide track rear axle from a G3 VR6 Syncro fitted to my G2 (I swapped the 6 pot diff for a 4 cylinder one)

ModeratorI can vouch that it is the correct box for your carm as its the only one ever fitted to a Golf 2 Syncro, the injection version has a catalytic converter fitted in its place, for the rest of the system back try here
