ModeratorThese are a far better carb than the Weber DCOE, they benefit by being designed 25 or so years later than the Weber, they were the last Hurrah of the performance carburettor before injection took completely over.
btw, they will bolt straight on to a Weber type manifold and the Dellorto 40 carbs are a direct replacement for the DCOE 45 series, giving equivalent power & better economy than the bigger Weber.

ModeratorLeft or right hand? they are different. and unfortunately neither are available from VW any more. [

ModeratorI only ask as the Rallye final drive diff ratio is 3.68 to 1 and the VR6 is 3.38 to 1
Passat Syncro differentials are between 3.93 & 4.2 to 1,
the original 020 rod change Syncro box has a 4.66 to 1 ratio

ModeratorThe Golf Country rear spring part numbers vary, please check the number and colour of the paint marks daubed on the springs as these indicate the part and I can give you the correct part number to ask for at the dealers.
You may at the same also want to replace the upper spring perches? p/n for these is 191 512 113
These are notorious for rusting through and then the top half of the shocker joins you inside the car, having fired your parcel shelf support and speaker into your headlining.
You may as well fit a new set of bump stops as yours will definitely be sh*gged out, p/n to suit spring
your original bump stops will probably look something like this

ModeratorYes, if you have VR6 internals then I think it must be an 02C, so it should be ok with that speedo set up, [8D]
btw, do you know your final drive (differential) ratio? are you running the VR6 one?Chris S
ModeratorUnless you are running an 02C gearbox your speedo will be wildly innacurate. [

ModeratorI may have a hairline cracked but not repaired one here, if that is of any use to you?
Chris S
ModeratorThats about right, and they are always cracked in exactly the same place, I think that VW must have pre cracked them in the factory before they fitted them!
I repaired mine about 3 years ago, I Veed the crack out, then got it as hot as I could before I welded it,
I built a sort of oven, just by stacking bricks which I then filled with barbeque coal bricks and sat the manifold in them
and lit it, I used a paint stripper hot air gun for a forced draught until the manifold was nearly red hot, then I arc welded
it using the correct rods for cast iron, I let it cool slowly over night, before refitting, it has been on the car for over
three years now with no problems.

ModeratorAlexis, if you do buy the gearbox from Mike, well then you can have a gear change lever box & cables for the cost of postage and a beer!
What parts of the propshaft do you need? front, centre, rear or all 3?
I know I have the centre & rear sections, but I will have to have a look & see if I have a spare front section!

ModeratorI am not sure if I might have one here, I will check for you next week, please remind me if I forget. [:o)]

ModeratorAsk syncromike, he has/had a Rallye with a 300 bhp 1.8t motor and a Rallye drive train,
for a minimum you would need the G60S front drivetrain and also the brakes would need to be upgraded to G60 standards.
