Chris SModeratorYou must have very understanding neighbours!
Chris SModeratorYes that is the std Syncro GT motor, mechanically it is identical to the 8V GTI motor (112 bhp) it is detuned by the ECU – an ECU swap will give you 112 bhp & its VW plug & play
Chris SModeratorWhen I did the same conversion on a Golf (2WD) I used the 1P Head, Manifolds, injection etc & with a chip tuned 1.8 gti ECU, it produced about 130 bhp
Chris SModeratorNo, unfortunately not this is only for the rodchange box & not the cablechange
Chris SModeratorYou also need one of these, it makes it very simple to adjust the linkage

Chris SModeratorAlso with the ignition off & in neutral, if you jack 1 side of the car up & rotate the rear wheel forwards, the front wheel should not move, but turn the rear wheel reversewards then the front wheel will turn as well,
At least I think that is the correct way round? but anyway 1 way turns the front wheel as well & the other way does not.
This checks the free wheel operation (think bicycle free wheel, if you turn the back wheel backwards then the pedals go round as well)
Chris SModeratorWith the ignition on select 3rd or 4 th gear, then return the gear lever to neutral, kill the ingition & see if you can move the car now? as ince engaged the reverse diff lock stays in 1st & 2nd gear – until 3rd or 4 th is selected
This is so that when you are ‘rocking’ the car with reverse & 1st/2nd gear to extricate yourself from mud or sand etc you only have to engage the reverse lock the first time you you engage reverse & then it stays locked in!
Chris SModeratorI might just have one of the 18.5mm bars here but no brackets or rubbers

Chris SModeratorAre you looking for the Rallye/Passat 20mm bar or the std 18.5mm Golf Syncro one?

Here you go, 191 part numbers are LHD & 192 numbers are RHDChris SModeratorYes, the rack is also different, btw are you left or right hand drive? power rack or manual?
Chris SModeratorYes they are different as the 2wd Golf 2 has a 1 piece tank & neck, while the Syncro has a seperate filler neck
You can see the join in this photo
& hereAttachments:
Chris SModeratorBy the way, you DO need the G60 “Syncro” parts as the 2WD G60 ones won’t clear the transfer box.
