just felt like starting this post just for fun
so, what did you do to your syncro today?
i’ll go first
glued the sideskirts for my GTI moulding set
and now i need G60 front arches since i’m using widetrack and all
now you go have fun, and stay on topic please
Brought it home – to hoover and clean it (it having stood for 6 months)
Now just need to fit ball joint – and find a rear shocker and then back to MOT!!!!!
just started it.. sitting in it oh, and popped a side window back on
figured out what I need next: fuel hose!
thought about moving it into the garage but couldnt work out where to put all the stuff thats in the garage
: (
measured up fuel hose…also needs some hoses on the fuel-pump itself replacing
been driving and thats just about all i’ve done havent even opened the hood. no problems at all
something many syncro owners aspire to
what do you mean aspiring to driving??! Its been that long with mine, that even aspiration has gotten very dusty over time
lol
lol xD
actually – though my progress has been glacial, I think I’m only a few bits of hose and some plugging in away from being able to test it on the 16v….
well, it made it into the garage today, but i couldnt find space for all my crap, so theres a huge pile in front of the car
i havent even been to the garage these last days. i’m getting lazy i guess. or just need a break from cars for a few days i’m sure i’m back on the syncro tomorrow
Today I fitted new spark plugs, BRISK LR15YS Silver [:0] Set the gat to .9mm
Seems to make idle smoother and better starting, I recon they are a good upgrage if running high octane fuel (alcohol).
I have been using Bosch super 4, havn’t done many miles on them but did notice the gap between each piont was slightly different. I would think they should wear together ? Maybe this is why some people think NGK are better.
Anyone got there opinon on plugs ?
nothing on the syncro but re-built one front jacking point on the missus’ gti today. Rest of the car is mint but the front jacking point on both sides was lookign a bit swiss. Anyhow I re-built it out of 2mm so it’s nice and sturdy – got the other side to do tomorrow…my arms are killing me xD
Also testing my new bilt-hamber electrolux super-zinc anti-rust paint…
re syncro: Got an appointment with a fuel hose person sometime next week or thereabouts to get nice braided hoses so I can finally connect the new motor up.
@EDDY no idea re spark plugs – i think my 16vs run ngks and the VW ones cos they were the ones to be had on ebay.
SNOW !!![]
Today I went out and watched people trying to pull away from junctions. I also tweeked the timing and mix scew on the carb.
I am now wondering if i shoud buy some winter tyres but then the wee Golf is good for doughnuts and still pulls nice with standard tyres !!
