…… so mine will then be worth something [}:)]

I was just reading on another forum about someone someone using a jetta syncro as a donor vehicle for a 4wd mk1 goof. This got me thinking does anyone actually know how many mk2 syncro’s are left?

Correct me if I’m wrong but originally there were
115 RHD Jetta’s imported to UK
665 RHD Golf’s imported to UK

How many do you think have been scrapped or used as donors for other more common cars?

I don’t realy mean scrap all syncros ….. I was just posting as it was my disgust at a distinctly rare Jetta syncro being scrapped to use the drivetrain on a common as muck mk1 [;)]

It got me thinking that there weren’t alot of mk2 syncro’s to start with and now theres even less as they are just seen as donors for other vehicles …. eventually people will realise how rare these things are and then they might actually be worth something.

edit: is there any way of finding out exactly how many are left?

tids a shame a jetta has to pay the price, but we dont know what state the jetta was in and i bet the person has no idea of the rarity
still….no excuse when there are plenty of haldex around

Makes me feel guilty for breaking up a five-door UK specification Syncro to make a three-door one, which was a project I abandoned in the end when I found my G60 Syncro instead. However, the car I broke up was awfully rusty.
