you just have to let it trickel in, drain the diff and place a clean bowl under teh diff to catch the oil that spills and just keep putting it back in till it’s had a whole liter
no such userParticipantuse a modifyed ezi bleed here, as there usless for bleeding brakes loose the cap off the end fill the bottel with gear oil and let it gently squirt it in
no such userParticipantit it to the point now where it would be worth getting 5 or 10 mm sheet ali profile cut to fit over the transfer case and tig welded to it to strengthen the caseing ?
say 4 plates even spaced, and then possobly a a few strips of same ali notched out to fit over the plates then welded to to tie the whole things together big style
no such userParticipantI’m not your mate, Spike. I have no idea who you are.
It seems two people have done the same research in parallel.
Double the benefit.
How strange that VW should not mention that the bearings are the same part in ETKA and how odd of Chris not to make such useful information available to the wider community. He’s normally so keen to share such information.
Just make sure you’re buying good stuff like FAG or similar. There aren’t many suppliers who supply to spec rather than to price these days.
no such userParticipantThe shocks of Danny’s are sitting on a shelf, unused in boxes, in my workshop in Bristol. They are Boge units – OE spec.
I spent quite a while getting these. They were THE LAST ones available from Euro Car Parts, who have now superceded them with 2WD items (which don’t fit).
As Danny has some pokier units on the back of his car they wound up not getting used.
no such userParticipantout of intrest what was wrong with the pg/kr mix ?
no such userParticipantbracket held up perfectly. think i can say it was throughly tested.
no such userParticipanti’m in ross ( herefordshire ) they fitted my car
no such userParticipantif you ever decide to go 2ltrs the 6A and 9A have the bolt holes in the block but the 020 rodchange box fouls the bubbel block it can be made to fit with a bit of grinding but the 02c clears the block fine
no such userParticipanti have a set of brand new rear shocks that are surplus
no such userParticipantchould allways weld a lug onto the std kr block ?
no such userParticipantIt wouldn’t be so hard to swap out the hubs for 5*100 hubs (and rear discs), which would give you a far more sound solution than PCD adaptors. IIRC the ‘pepperpot’ A3 rims are approx 5-10 different offset (ET) so unless you’re running ‘slammed’ you’re unlikely to have big issues.
no such userParticipantHad some fun drifting around the car park at Castle Combe on virgin snow this afternoon, after going to Merlin Motor Sport to pick up some bits….. in the Passat, not the Golf, natch.
no such userParticipantA well-modified Syncro handles a LOT better than one straight out of the box.
no such userParticipanttook the spare syncro out. humilated multi range rover, then did a bit of sideways when got bored of that
