sorry to bring this topic up again, but mine has just started banging the tunnel at the front on the Passat G60 Syncro.

am I right in thinking that if the prop is moving to much then these bushes/bearings have gone?

which would make sense, as I am getting a mad vibration and knocking.

also, can you confirm how the prop is held in place?

as although I haven’t removed the prop yet, I can’t see anything holding it in place.
