ModeratorThis was actually for the camshafts, there is already a company in europe making a Syncro spaghetti exhaust manifold/downpipe
Chris S
ModeratorIt has been done in the past and did fit, but how about this http://www.vwsyncro.co.uk/data/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2673

ModeratorPlease take note, depending on the model year of your car & the year that the ‘new’ rear diff was manufactured, you may have to swap over the viscous coupling from your old rear diff.

ModeratorUnbelievable! I wonder where he got his degree in structural engineering, off a Cornflakes packet possibly?
Said Cornflakes packet will have probably more structural integrity than his supposed Syncro pick up! [:0]

ModeratorI have one here, if you can’t find one more locally

ModeratorSorry Mikes, but I just checked in ETKA & the Scirocco shocks P/N 171 513 033P or P/N 171 513 033R are also listed for a Golf 1
& strangely enough for a 1979 to 1984 Jetta Syncro?but as we all know the Syncro models did not come out till 1986 with the Golf/Jetta 2 platform!

By the way, bent U nederlands of engels? Here is the diagram for the carb model vacuum line routing
The non return valve is the black/white fitting on the black vacuum pipe just after where it comes of the inlet manifold, top left (ish)

There is a second non return valve in the green pipe on the bulkhead under the bonnet, (which btw is actually green on the car as well)

ModeratorNot really as this happens, its caused by the tyre rubbing on the spring perch when cornering.
Also the Golf 1 shocks are not stiff enough to damp the extra weight of the Golf 2 Syncro rear end, I fitted a spacer ring to stop the rubbing, but the Golf 1 shocks are not up to the job.

Golf 1 on the left, G2 Syncro on the right, notice the spring perch hight difference.

ModeratorDepending which front brakes the GTI has? it may be worth swapping them over to your Syncro.
Link here http://www.vwsyncro.co.uk/data/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=119
As for the in tank lift pump, you can adapt the GTI one to fit the (deeper) Syncro tank,
you can also use the GTI in line pump as it is the same part as fitted to the 98 BHP Syncro GT
Chris S
ModeratorNo probs, they are still fitted in the car!

Moderatorbtw, I have a set of black carpets that I will swap for a grey set, these carpets are from my 89 syncro which has only 139 thousand kilometers on it.
