ModeratorWhile the rear discs are a lot more powerful(& lighter)than the drum brakes the brake bias valve is fully automatic and does not need any adjustment,
you can feel the difference in stopping power with the rear discs.
btw, I hope you have the 16 Valve brake master cylinder to fit as well? unless you have ABS in which case you need the Rallye/Passat G60 M/C
Quote,
You must also change the master cylinder for one with the larger bore as fitted to rear disc cars
this is p/n 535 614 111, for left hand drive cars fitted with ABS
and p/n 357 611 019B for non ABS RHD car,(GSF have the RHD M/C listed as 65276 BRAKE MASTER CYL-22.2mm G2 16V 12/88 >10/91)
if you dont change this you get excessive pedal travel, now all you have to do is a nut and bolt job

I have both the front and rear rubber bearings (191521349 and 191521350) listed as available
According to my VW partsman, both propshaft bearings are still available, but must come from VW Germany with an unknown delivery time,
this usually means that they are shown on the computer at Wolfsburg as sat on the shelf at a VW dealers somewhere in the world,
(not neccessarily at the same dealers or even the same country or on the same continent either)
they must first be sent back to VW Germany for onward shipment to the ordering dealerPrices are
191521349 – 127 eu
191521350 – 127 eu

ModeratorHave you checked your drive shaft joints & wheel bearings?
if they are all ok then it is probably the prop shaft hanger bearings, this happened on my 2nd G2 Syncro a week after I bought it, try driving up a steep hill and see if it gets worse,
mine used to run ok on the flat, but on a hill (the steep one coming out of Dover in the UK) the prop started bashing into the tunnel, it sounded like the floor was about to fall out!
Luckily I found a complete brand new propshaft in Germany, btw mine failed at less than 100,000 kilometers so it appears to be a time related issue rather than a mileage one.

ModeratorYes but its very difficult for any water from there to run to the back of the car, unless its parked on a hill!
Never having had this problem (fingers crossed) personally I would suggest either door or rear window seals, Sorry I cant be of more help.
