batt connected: 13.3v
batt disconnected: 13.35v
running: 13.9vMind you I do have a small solar panel (about 10 X 3 inches) permanently connected to the battery & this keeps the battery charged up.

as for not using your car very much, according to the APK (MOT) certificates my Syncro did just over 4000 kilometers in the last year (about 2600 miles)
The German price is 21 euros, but be prepared for it to cost 10 to 15% more as we are not paying German prices,

Drain the gearbox oil first & see if its full of metal?
btw, is your clutch hydraulic or cable?If you are going to do an oil change, please use either 15/40 or 20/40 oil, best of all is 20/50 if you can get it.
5/40 or 10/40 is to thin for our engines, and can cause the knocking that you describe.I have a later (ABS/EDL) wiring harness here, I will dig it out of my shed this week & look at what wires go to the check/test/fault plug.
I have a spare black Syncro centre console here (not the electric window version)
+ I could probably find you a LHD dash at the local breakers yard, I dont know what the postage from Holland would be on the dash though!
