When my Digi 2 car wouldn’t idle, I traced the fault to the temp sender, however replacing it with a new (VW Dealer) part made absolutely no difference,
the fault was in the wiring just before it went into the sender plug, it had work hardened & fractured & was only making an intermittent contact, causing the cold idle problems.Chris S
ModeratorAs it all is 20 years old, I would suggest completely removing the carbon filter setup (its probably not doing very much now anyway) & block the 2 pipes that connect to the inlet manifold (do not join them together as they are on different sides of the throttle butterfly flaps, I will look over week end for the exact removal procedure for you
Q) Do you mean that it leaks from that valve where that larger diameter black hose goes and two vacuum hoses from TB? – possibly
Chris S
ModeratorIt is quite probably an air leak, have you checked the carbon filter tank vapour system connections?
do you have a spare air flap to test if it is working correctly?Chris S
ModeratorDaz I just got this back from your email adress

ModeratorThe rubber bush is listed as P/N 1H0 599 273 & should be still available at your VW Dealers
Chris S
ModeratorI have a complete one here, Please e-mail if you are interested?
Chris S
ModeratorDon’t consider buying anything other than standard length rear shokkers, as the “Lowered” ones are far to low & the tyres rub against the bodywork.
Chris S
ModeratorIf you mean the spring & shokker length/rate?
then the Syncro is heavier sprung & damped to cope with the extra weight & also the spring perch sits higher up the Syncro shokker to clear 15 inch wheels & tyres
Here is what happens when you run Golf 1 Rear Shokkers with 195/50-15 tyres
Chris S
ModeratorI am following your build on your facebook page.
