ModeratorNone of my photos in the photo guides work, what do I have to change please??? [

ModeratorYes the right rear engine mounting bracket is Syncro specific, if you dont have the correct one fitted it will burn the rubber boot off the driveshaft in a very short time, About 10 miles should do it nicely!
btw If you do want the correct engine mounting bracket? I have one for sale here, please email me privatelyChris S

ModeratorWell the gears are as strong as each other, on early ASU type boxes the transfer box being made of cast iron will be stronger, as possibly will the transfer gears themselves.
As it weighs about 50 odd kilos the postage charges will be horrendous! depending when you want it for there may be a chance I can get it to London,
Mark (slateford) is coming over here from Edinburgh in his Rallye Via Dover/Dunkirk on Oct 23 & will be returning on Wed the 31st oct and he will be driving the M25 anticlockwise up to the M1 so possibly you could meet up somewhere?Chris S

ModeratorI E-mailed the VW dealer about them & I just got this back,
Kan ik nog steeds bestellen, liggen er 26 in Nederland. Kosten 4,29 per
stukiede.
it translates as
I can order them, there are 26 of them lying at the Dutch VW importer they cost 4,29 euros each.
BTW, They will be here the next day after ordering as they only have to come from the importer and not from Germany which usually takes 2 days to get here.Chris S
ModeratorWhy not give a conditional lifetime membership for a joining fee?, and your membership will run for a period of 6 months from your last log in, or 12 months from your last post, but if you have not logged on or posted during this period then your membership can be cancelled.
btw, these are the criteria I use for deleting members atm.
£2.50 is about 3.75 euros or $5 which sounds fair enough to me, lets face it its only the cost of a pint of beer! or not even that if you live in or near London!
Chris S
ModeratorI have just had a wonderful thought? (I think it maybe anyway)
Why not charge a one off payment of a couple of pounds to join? (payable by paypal)this would possibly get rid of the spammers as well as leaving things as they are for existing members, and as we know new members are either notoriously heavy with questions or one post (usually for sale) wonders, hows that for an idea???
