I have a 268 degree cam for my 2.0L motor it gives more low down and mid range power, (which increases driveability) at the expense of 4 or 5 bhp at the top end.

Yes, if you look at the Rallye rear mount this only has 3 lugs as the 4th lug fouls the rubber boot.

You can (just about) see how the Rallye rear mount has the lower inner lug missing to clear the joint boot.

You need the front console from the Passat P/N 357 199 273 , the actual rubber mounting is the same
If you can find one on the scrapyard, any 4 cylinder Corrado from 1989 to 1995 has all the correct mounting brackets you need fitted, you juat then need to saw one of the lugs of the right hand console.

I mean look what happened to me [;)] my life was quite average & normal until I caught the dreaded syncronitis [xx(]

Unfortunately there is no cure and the only way to alleviate the symptoms is with more horsepower and better handling [}:)]

BTW, if your new engine does not have the transfer box lugs, have a look at this

That is a typical example of how little car part suppliers & part monkeys actually know about our cars, VW employees included.

I see you have a carburettor motor, if so then it could be the metal warm air deflector plate on the exhaust manifold has rotted enough to allow it to rattle about (p/n 027 253 041)
