ModeratorYes, it is 1/2 a liter.
Donut flange bolts are 60 Newton Meters or 44.25 lb/ft

ModeratorI thought he might if be able to if you told him where they where! [

ModeratorHurrah, I just got this back from the VW parts department,
“Pon heeft er twee op voorraad dus ik kan er in ieder geval twee voor je bestellen”
which translates as
“Pon (the Dutch VW importer) has two on stock therefore I can therefor in any case two for you order there”
So there are 2 of them here, they are sat on the shelf at the Dutch VW Importer, would you like me to get one for you?
they cost 99 euros each inc vat but + postage to the UK
please email me if you would like one [

ModeratorUnfortunately these are parts that just get left behind when people remove petrol tanks, however It should not be too difficult to make one.
Chris S
ModeratorI just e-mailed my dealer to see if it is still available over here, or if he can find one in the VW dealer network.
Chris S
ModeratorThat was lucky! [

ModeratorWell on the front left hand side a driveshaft from any Golf 2 will fit, but the front right hand side shaft is Syncro specific and not readily available second hand.

Chris S
ModeratorBy the time you have stripped out two gearboxes & rebuilt them into one (inluding settng all end floats, preloads etc, it is probably just as easy to fit a G60 Syncro gearbox.
but if you are determined to go ahead with your conversion? then the parts you will need from the Syncro gearbox are as follows
1) Bellhousing.
2 Second motion shaft. (pinion shaft)
3) Crownwheel & differential.
4) reversing light switch. You will also need to buy a 16V clutch friction plate, as the splines are different on the 16V input shaft.
For a Photo guide look here http://www.brokevw.com/syncro.html

ModeratorYes, it will bolt straight in, however the gear ratios are slightly different, but you can take the complete transfer box off this and bolt it on to your original gearbox. [
]As he says
passend auch im Rallye Golf da Übersetzung des Winkeltriebes auch 20/21 beträgt
suitably also in Rally Golf translation of the transfer box also 20/21 amounts to there!
Chris S
ModeratorI just looked in ETKA & it looks like it all should fit without any problems,
please post on here or e-mail to me photos of fitting & when fitted, so we can make a how to photo guide and post it on site.Chris S
ModeratorAn Alluminium cased Passat G60 transfer box will bolt in, as long as you are not worried about originality

ModeratorI am not getting any figures yet as it is still in build, I am hoping for the best part of 200 bhp with a very flat torque curve, spec is a bored out G60 block fitted with a 2.0 liter crank & pistons, Audi S2 144mm drilled rods, ported ABA crossflow head with 268 Techtonics cam, new beetle 2.0 (large bore) inlet manifold, tubular exhaust manifold, decatted exhaust, and an Eaton M45 compressor mounted like this,

link here http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0107tur_neuspeed_volkswagen_supercharger/index.html
I assume the American power figures are for their version of the 2.0L motor with the low compression pistons & the crappy (emission) American camshaft
