ok have a look here, sorry its in the original german! but you can translate it with babel fish
ok i thin kthis is the page you’re after – pls bear with me as my technical germain ain’t so hot..
They refer to “Exzentriziaet” which I’m guessing is the eccentric bit – hopefully the same dir as the arrow?
Exzentriziaet nach oben: eccentricity pointing up
sturzveranderung negativ: more negative camber
Exzentriziaet nach unten: eccentricity pointing down
sturzveranderung positiv: more positive camber
Exzentriziaet nach vorn: eccentricity pointing forwards
spurveranderung negativ: more toe-in (positive “track adjustment”)
Exzentriziaet nach hinten: eccentricity pointing backwards
spurveranderung positiv: more toe-out (negative “track adjustment”)
Whilst I’m not sure whether I got the toe-in/out the right way round I think if you’re only after camber adjustment my money would be on eccentricity/arrow down so it sounds like you’re on target []
any chance of a photo of these for the archive before you fit them?
hth,
🙂
jsync has a set in a box, so i can get a pic from there and ill get a pic of them fitted before it all goes back together properly.
Looks like I was right (phew!)I had a little wiggle with the trailing arm first to see what would happen, but was unsure if the camber reduction caused some toe-in/out. It would be a bloody expensive mistake if I got it wrong!
Thanks guys!
will do
Have I understood correctly? So, once you press these excentric bushes in, there is nothing left to do, right? So I can´t adjust camber afterwards?
Thats it, what you see is what you get!
Great! Well, suddenly I don´t want those bushes anymore. Have to do camber adjustment some other way.
Check with Les as I think someone in Canada has made some camber adapter plates or something similar.
There are adjuster kits being made by two different guys.
One of them is http://www.Dutchdub.com in Holland. I have been following an interesting discussion on his adjusters on VWVortex. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2849085
The second guy is Todd at http://www.hyperformance.ca/
Todd produced a similar kit for his own Passat Syncro and now offers them on a special order basis.
I have been considering the kits from dutchdub, but have a few ideas of my own that i want to try first. My biggest problem is finding an eccentric head adjuster bolt in M12x110.
is there any more info on these? I ended up just sticking in regular bushes
Any luck with photos of the eccentric bushes as my plans for 2007 include replacing the worn rears, amongst other things.

we have no idea where his are now.
audi a6 (or a4) quattro is supposed to have the eccentric camber bolts
FOUND SOME
P/N WHT 001 682 formerly 4F0 501 337 and its M12 x 1.5 x 115mm
P/N WHT 000 708 domed nut
P/N 4F0 501 389C for the adjuster piece that sits under the nut
After looking at the picture the head seems to be central to the shank its almost as if it just has a fixed eccentric washer fitted almost like so you could dial in the camber and the under nut washer at the other end looks the same,
Big thanks to Ronan for that exellent bit of info [8D]
I have just E-mailed my VW dealer and order them, I will post photos as soon as I have my hot sticky little mitts on them.
What a fortunate time to have a newly rebuilt (almost finished) rear axle on the workbench []
Now if only I can get out of my bedroom and get into my shed
instead of getting out of my bedroom and into the hospital every few days, I would be eternally grateful. []
