MemberThe insurance on my Jetta is due shortly and I was wondering who does good rates for syncro’s as all the ones I’ve tried it works out more expensive than my Scirocco (Group 15 with declared mods). The best I’ve got so far is swiftcover £350ish … I’m over 30 and live in the middle of nowhere.
Thx

Memberbrentacre – vw specialists, been with them for years with all mods declared – they actually offered to give 5% discount to members when I spoke to them about it aaages ago…maybe that’s our first discount?

MemberI’ve just talked to my insurance company (NFU) and they have declined to quote on a LHD Golf Country Chrom Edition[
] Although a couple of years ago I asked them to insure an Overfinch 570Ti and they knew exactly what I was talking about and it cost the same as a standard Range Rover[
]Anyway I digress, I shall try Brentacre but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Memberyou cold try HIC they might be good,
I certainly got good prices on a VR Tubo in a mk2 with them! so a syncro shouldnt be an issue (i hope)September 3, 2008 at 9:09 pm #4886no such user
ParticipantJust don’t think you’ll be insured somewhere like the Nurbugring on HIC insurance – lot of exclusions.

Memberis the vr turbo going in the syncro? and have you had a quote on that beast?
Think you can get insurance that covers you on track days and the ring, probably 1 or 2 a year.

MemberI’m not intending it to be used for track days. It is intended to replace my current Golf2 GL 4+E, which I use everyday, and add some of the versatility (and luxuries) of my Range Rover LSE.
However, I will use it at some of the shows and to play a bit in the mud! I’ve got a quote from HIC and notice that they have ‘additions’ for this, but think my mileage is a bit too high (25000mls / yr).
