MemberGive us more details! I’m about to go Haldex with big turbo and would like to know what and how I’m going to break things!

nutter4x4Participantlaunched it off the line, as usual perfect launch but not so good for the TB, heard a bang, stopped car after about 6-7m`s and there was a trail of gearbox from the launch area if some one has a n95 or summit similar i can send a pic to post up

MemberNutter, this is on your Haldex equipped Rallye right? Are you running the 02M 6 speed or a 02C 5 speed with the Special Skoda Angle drive to match the Haldex? I seem to recall something about you running a 5-speed.
I’ve heard that the Angle drive on the 02M 6 speed is the weak link and under high power it will split the housing. You are the first that I’ve actually seen with this problem though. There is a guy in the US that is tooling up for a stronger billet aluminum angle drive case that will accept all the factory internals, but only for the 02m 6-speed set-up. nothing for the 5-speed 02C angle drive.

nutter4x4Participantafraid its the 02c angle drive, with a quaife 6spd, luckily i think i ve found a replacement with larger bearings just needs the end cap and it should be sorted, try again

nutter4x4Participantwell that didn`t last to long , 6 launches, the casing snapped at the bracket, the centre bolt in the shaft pulled it self out which now means the box has to come out, pic up soon

ModeratorOh dear again, I shall check my late Rallye cast iron transfer box (the one with oilways (thanks Mark)) and see if the bolt on flanges are ally or made of a stronger material (hopefully)

ModeratorWhat can I say, only that when you are the leader, then other people follow, [
]You have the breakages that most of us can only dream about. [
