need some etka help here, can’t seem to work out which hoses/lines i need
i need both hoses that goes from the calipers and over the control arm, and the hard brakeline from the flexible hose that goes onto the controlarm
of anyone understand what i mean (both rear hose/pipes)
well. got to do some crap in the garage today. using my anglegrinder to grind the drum backplate of. had to cut that in various places in order to grind the bolt heads off (rusted out bolts)
mounted the disc. and caliper along with new pads
the parts i need is fairly obvious on this pic
i need the hardline that you see point upwards there. and the hose from that to the caliper
actually an easy swap since the mounting points for the caliper-carrier is already there
emergencybrake cables will come tomorrow
oh, and a pic of most of the crap that was inside the drum :p
This is how I did mine, with a flexy pipe from the beam to the swing arm, then a hard pipe along the swing arm to a 2nd flexy & a short piece of hard pipe from the 2nd flexy pipe to the caliper.
There are probably more elegant ways of doing this but I was working with what pipes etc I had to hand.
btw, do you not need disc backplates in Norway? – P/N 191615611C []
thats how i’m gonna do mine aswell how long is the hard line? or did you make it yourself? i’ve found the rear flex hose now. and according to etka the one for rallye is 275mm long.
and regarding the back plates. they usually rust away in notime here. and i’ve never had any problems without them
hardline is 275mm long. with m10x1 nuts i both ends just for your information
so now thats sorted out :p
well, after a week of trial and error on my handbrake cable issue, i’ve found the reason, i need orignal calipers. not the ones i’ve got, which are OEM nor close to, they fit, but the handbrake mechanism is different
hopefully my brakes will be back on tormorrow so i can bleed them properly
brakes are now fully working as it should great
only thing now is the exhaust i’ve ordered some tools to fix my exhaust. need to fine-tune the coilovers tho. but i want to have a little test ride to settle them a bit first
things are finally going the right way
no updates in a while, still waiting for my exhaust tools
but, heres some pics i took today. of this ugly ass car :p
but hey, its working. only exhaust left now
i had written a long post. but it did never show up here. damn
very “rat look” so far – am liking the dual air-intakes at the front
haha. lol :p they are now replaced with headlamps
didn’t pass inspection damnit. oh well. fix the small things, and try again
well, nothing much has happend lately. i’m still waiting for my engine upgrade application with our local “dmv” to be processed and that takes a lot of time, especially now in these vacation times
ohwell, just have to wait, only thing ive done is refit the power-steering. and replaced the two center swaybar bushings in the front
Will Vegard have the same problems as you have regarding track?
quote:
what are the lenghts of you front shafts?
Length on the front shafts are 327 mm. and 423 mm. Meassurements from flange to flange on the inner side of the CV joints. This is for VR6 front subframe, stock mk2 subframe gives 7 mm. shorter shafts on both sides.

what i really want to know is the total length of the shaft itself, no cv’s. no flanges or anything, just the total lengt of the bare shaft
