MemberRe the fuel pump setup – have you found a device to automatically switch off the pump when the engine stops (i.e. in case of an accident). I’ve heard of a “holley safety switch” but wonderde if there was a relay somewhere we could tap into. Atm on mine the pump is on when the key is turned – so not ideal for in a collision…

ParticipantWell, Ive been busy in the loft more than on the car, and its amazing what you loose when you squirrel things away.
The rear screen isnt fitted properly at all and is only resting there. I tried to show the tint, but it just wouldnt work

Participanteh up danny
yeah its been a bit hectic with work and mum being ill so not much has happened. Its dark now and cold and I just dont seem to have any time. Ive bought a few parts though. NOS VAG small black bumpers and a couple of NOS badges too. Looks like that GTI Engineering bodykit was destined to be mine as the chap who bought it has offered it to me now and he has some spares too. Ive also bought a new GTI Engineering leather steering wheel which I totally love. The previous wheel that I have can go with the bodykit along with the later T4 syncro gearnob. God knows what wheels but Ive never had BBS so hmmmm…. Ive also bought another set of the G60 wing badges, Golf CL and syncro badges too. ive also just won a badge thats supposedly for the late Jetta grill but in the early script. Ive also decided to go for the early arch spats as despite my early buy of the later ones, I do feel it would suit the look better.

Participantwell the kit is more damaged than I thought but its 20 yrs old and its also restorable. The spare rear bumper has a frenched in plate recess. Anyway……… its only the second one ive seen for sale and at least I have spares too. Pics to follow

ParticipantLove the kit, I’ve got one on my re2000 8v 3dr GTi. Looking at the parts list the 3dr and 5dr side skirts are different. Do you know what the difference is?
July 21, 2009 at 12:38 am #6018re2
Participantto the best of my knowledge its the fitting around the b pillar. I have 2 sets of 3dr skirts and there arent any NOS left- which is a shame. My kit is stored in the loft and ill fit it another time when its ready for fresh paint again
Have you got a link for your car build?
