    This is a bit of a long shot, but regarding the cooling flange coming out of the head in this pic, there’s a rallye specific version whcih comes out at a different angle. Does anyone happen to have one of the rallye ones spare/for sale?

    I did the test with the aluminium welding stuff ages ago but that flange actually broke as soon as it went into service, so am back to my one made out of a bit of railing…but even that still fouls the carbs on the syncro.

    Do you mean the front flange from the 16v Syncro Golf LTD, or just the front flange from an 8V Rallye? if its the latter then it is still available from VW P/N 037 121 132B & for less than a tenner as well.

    ah damn – yeah you’re right it’ll be the one from the limited… hmm damn..yes- blonde moment, rallye is of course 8v isn’t it.. sos been a long couple of weeks …

    I’m sorry but I really think that that is not going to be a common or easily found part.
