    Hi,

From looking at etka it appears that the drivers side (uk) engine mount is different for a syncro/rallye compared to a standard mk2 mount.

My question is apart from the part number does anyone know what the physical difference is between the 2 mounts? And also what is the reason is for the difference? If someone has a picture comparing the 2 that would be ideal.

    Thanks for looking.

Is this the aluminium part that bolts to the rear of the block? If so then yes, it’s to give clearance for the CV joint/boot on the syncro models. I think the rallye may be different yet again from the rod-change gearbox syncro, but I use a rod-change mount with cable change and no clearance probs so far.

    Hi,

Thank you for the reply, yes the cast aluminum part. Do you know if the mount maintains the same engine position? Or does it move it up?? Was that rod change syncro mount with a cable change box?

I think your right; from looking at Etka the part numbers are as follows:

191 199 354F Syncro OSR engine mount bracket
357 199 354F Rallye OSR engine mount bracket
    191 199 354C Mk2 golf OSR engine mount bracket
    191 199 354A (Replaced by 191 199 354C)

Does any one know what the rallye mount looks like???

it looks just the same as the regular syncro one :) i reused the stock one from my 1P syncro engine to my PG engine from the passat :)

Isn’t there one of these syncro mounts with only three bolt fixings? to avoid possible clearance issues with the cv boot? I think that may be the rallye part if it is.
