this might be a long shot but I’m hoping someone has a spare loom kicking around with a 3-pin fan connector they wouldnt’ mind parting with.

The fan’s gone on my golf and it’s a 2-pin and it looks like they don’t make a 2-pin anymore…I’m happy to wire in a 3-pin plug but none of the spares i’ve got kicking around have a fan plug attached which leaves me at a bit of a loss.

    Anyone? (or better ideas?)

    cheers :)

the 2 pin plug is only for a single speed hamster, the 3 pin plug for the fan is either P/N 893 906 232 or 1HO 906 232 depending on the year of the car the hamster is from. [;)]

    Have look in ETKA – Gosy – 1988 – MG 9 – SG 71 – Illustration 260-05

You will need the relevent rubber boot(s) (Hamster wellingtons) to waterproof it as well, P/N 191 927 907 [;)]

i have that little bit of loom that goes from the 2 pin connector, then to the rad switch and then to the 3pin for the rad.

ok well I’ve gotta check something else out first on the car tomorrow but if VW don’t come up with anything I’ll give you a shout if that’s ok?

well the other thing I needed to check was a wobbly wheel, and in the process of locating a spare wheel to test with I found the old loom we pulled out of the syncro, complete with the small section with the 3-pin plug for the fan. So I *think* we’re good to go.

I’ve ordered a 3-pin fan so will report back once i know for sure one way or the other :D
