I use Rapid Electronics for any electronic component – their film resistors are here: http://www.rapidonline.com/Electronic-Components/Resistors

So they used the “anything that was lying around at time time” standard then? [:)]

Bit late to this, but I thought the standard Syncro tyre size was 185/55 r15…? Though I guess some may have come with 14″ wheels!

A set of 15″ G60-style steels I got new off ebay… Don’t want to buy two sets of BBS RAs [:)]

I’m running Vredestein Snowtrac 3 winters on my Syncro, and have been very impressed – 6-12″ snow absolutely no problem, and they were definitely worth the odd looks from the BMW drivers as I went past them sideways in deep snow on a motorway slip road [:)]

I’ve also now bought some Vredestein sportrac tyres for the summer, they seem decent so far but I haven’t had a properly long drive on them yet – have spent too much time on my motorbike…

Yeah it’s just DIY’d in, so I also suspect the earth. No time to sort this yet, hopefully should have by the weekend…

I’ve got a mate where I live that specialises in MGBs – since seeing the way those 1960s cars were bodged together, the decline of the British industry has never surprised me [B)]

Received the oil separator today – looks like it’ll fit. Fingers crossed…!

In that case I might try with the one from the 1100 / 1300 motors as above… worth a go!

Does anyone know where I can get hold of what is shown on the diagram as part number 17? It doesn’t appear to have a part number in ETKA. Failing that, can I use one of these? I’m guessing that’s basically the same thing but for the smaller engines…?!

Just thought I’d add to this discussion; there doesn’t seem to be a conclusive vacuum layout for a syncro with a weber carb, so below is a rather terrible illustration of how mine is set up at the moment. Happy to update it if I’ve missed anything; vacuum tubes are in green.

Thanks… hopefully I can keep it running for quite a while longer – and maybe I’ll update the pics once it’s actually clean! [:D]
