Erm….

That sound suspiciously like what I have written on my website!!! I think these figures where taken straight from it as some of the wording is very similar as well!!!

I now believe that they are not 100% accurate. The website http://www.vw-golf-country.de has been revised and has more detailed values!

It is believed that some were fitted with a 16V motor and at least one with a G60 engine.

I assume they have converted it from a diecast ‘Dinky’ type Golf model.

I must admit, mine is a 1150kg version and I’ve never checked to see if it comes off!

The original has a towing limit of 1500kg, but they are available in lesser ratings and hence cheaper. You could modify a standard Golf type or try to find a Syncro version which should fit, but they are likely to be a lesser rating.

Also be careful with some of the adverts ’cause I noticed that some were for the swan neck only.

Have you tried a local firm? They may be able to supply something, and cheaper if it comes over in a container with a load of others.
