Hey Chris is the drum to disc for the MK3 syncro straight foward? I was told by Ed @ ecode that Audi 4000 carriers would work. I am trying to get an idea for what parts to keep around.. thanx

Excuse me for posting and not checking out my syncro, I could change the downpipe along with a matching 8v manifold. As long as I can clear the transfer box , I should be good. If not, I have to plan on fabing a downpipe..

BTW thanx to Chris S for the photos on what blocks are syncro ready, very helpful…

Not to my knowledge, It was and still is a petrol sucker… I called World Impex,Inc. to do a search and we went by the vin # and was told it was a ALE, and the manifold was 400 bucks.. I was just curious to see how hard it was going to be .. No biggie, I just got done welding some flanges up,(7018 best rod) and plan to use a turbo manifold and just make an downpipe..
I have to drive soon !!!

Thanks for the help, I believe I had the ALE engine code. But it looks like I may just end up making the adapter from the ABA manifold to the downpipe.. whoray Oxy-GAS, no biggie.

Hello from across the pond. My name is Frank and I have a MK3 syncro golf I recently purchased from an importer. Complete without an engine! I cant wait to get the swap completed, I have some basic plans (8V) then maybe after getting some other projects completed I can have some fun[:p]
