Damn, I got all excited when i first read it!
andys2kMemberAll the Golf 2 Syncro models use the same (high) tunnel as does the 2wd G60 Golf.
Am I understanding that right or am i being a numpty? Can the std 2wd G60 be converted into 4wd by just fitting the syncro running gear without having to chop bits out of the car bodywork?
andys2kMemberLet me know if the sale of the shell falls through?
andys2kMemberEverything as in the car? or just all the bits from the car?

I’ll give your mate a call when I get chance to prise myself from my huge pile of quotes I’ve got to do
andys2kMemberNot bothered about 400bhp or even 280bhp at the minute, to be honest it just has to drive as its the base car I’m after, haldex & other magic would come later.
Probably would sell the box anyway, do you still have the std box to put back in or engine for that matter? Would the guys who built the engine be able to put the other piston back in to get it running? This would become a long term project for me (last time I spunked £20k into an S2000 & the mrs nearly divorced me!)
andys2kMemberO’oooooooo!!
I’ve now got to go home and speak to my wife….
I’ve been after a 3dr syncro RHD (which I now know were never made) so its good that the lhd to rhd conversion has been done, I do intend to put an R32 unit in a syncro, but suppose this would do until then
**Just read the post again as well as the ed38 one & now see the car is a non runner, how much would it cost to get it working?( my wife wouldn’t even look at it if its not working)**

andys2kMemberYeah, I think thats what I may end up doing. I do plan to fully over haul the transmision & syncro system for a haldex one anyway and put a 3.2 or 3.6 lump in & eventually bi-turbo it with lots of other stealth modifications
I’ve just got to convince the wife that it won’t be like the last time I ploughed £20k into turbo charging a Honda S2000
Would you suggest importing a LHD one from europe or are there any decent places I may find a good priced well looked after one?
Andy
andys2kMemberCRAP!! I was hoping to find a RHD drive one
How about euro(cyprus)/south african imports as they drive on the right?
Other option I suppose is to buy a std mk2 & do a syncro/haldex conversion, do you know anywhere that would do this(pref has done before) & won’t have my pants down?
Thanks again,
Andyandys2kMemberHi everyone,
I’m not a syncro owner yet, but looking to get one as a toy soon[]
