Does anyone have the year-by-year production numbers for the Golf Syncro?

If so, how detailed is it? (color, options, etc.)

No, but I have heard that over 20,000 Golf 2 Syncros were made, including just over 500 RHD versions.

I just found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Golf_Mk2 which states that the production numbers were

Golf Syncro – 26,000 (1986 to 1989)

Rallye – 5,000

Golf Limited – 71

Golf Country about – 6,697

Country Chrompaket – 558

Country Allround – 160

Country GTI – 50 built for VW-staff

Erm….

That sound suspiciously like what I have written on my website!!! I think these figures where taken straight from it as some of the wording is very similar as well!!!

I now believe that they are not 100% accurate. The website http://www.vw-golf-country.de has been revised and has more detailed values!

It is believed that some were fitted with a 16V motor and at least one with a G60 engine.
