Rallye running gear on a 1,8 carb syncro

Hi there everyone,I recently bought kevin wilsons syncro, Im not new to mk2 golfs, but new to sycronicity. Finally sold my last mk2 and am about to put the syncro on the road. Its the top 1 in the for sale section.
These are probably questions already asked, but found some rallye running gear, gearbox, driveshafts, prop, rear diff.
Im guess that they will fit the g2 syncro??
What sort of power will the gearbox take?
Im planning a 20vt conversion, and want some thing reliable, from reading through his forum im guessing this setup will work im only looking for 200 bhp approx.

A good O2C Gearbox will run all day at 200 bhp, people have been known to put over 300 bhp through them, but thats when things usually start breaking,

you must also remember that any original Rallye gearbox is going to be 20 years old and with who knows how many miles on it?

so they do need treating with a little bit of consideration.

cheers chris, I had considered a gearbox rebuild to give some peace of mind. I guess it all depends on price aswell, as its already been removed from the car. Iv got some other options so will see how they develope. thanks again

hi there, i managed to pick up a full rallye running gear box, prop, all driveshafts and rear diff, Iv also picked up a 20vt lump, The thing im stuck on is which pedal box to use? can i use my current pedal box or does anyone know wether i need to convert to hydalic? thanks if anyone can help!! ben
