I know this car, the ‘old boy’ owners daughter approached me a couple of years ago for a valuation when her father had to give up driving
I think it has a full VW dealer service history? having been back to the VW dealer for absolutely everything,
I had a full set of photos on my old computer, it was in absolutely outstanding condition and looked more like a 5 year old car than a 20 year old one, it is one of the best Syncros I have seen.
My advice is to buy it now, today, right away, cos if you don’t someone on here will now they know about it!
its sat on my drive lol. so it was a good buy then. got it for 1,400 with the wheels.
Nice one, its cost a bit more than most syncros of the same age cost, but given the condition, mileage etc in my opinion you got a bargain. []
here are some pictures of here this afternoon
is it as tidy as you remember
It certainly is! [8D] [:p]
I just remembered that I supplied the new window seals for this car a couple of years back as the then owner (the old boy) was not happy with the slightly perished ones []
It is absolutely original and never been messed with, apart from the Syncro 4×4 door sticker, which I believe has been on from new,
and the new wheels, as it had 13 inch steels on when I last saw it.
wow that is a *mint* syncro! And at only £1400 that’s a bargain too Congrats, you must be very pleased!
And it has been serviced all its life at the VW dealers [:0]
a couple more photos
I am well chuffed, was not even looking for a car and didnt even know mk2 syncros even existed so when I saw it thought I just better buy it.
the only fault is that it judders when setting off in first gear if the revs are less then 2k above 2k its fine, after this there is no clutch slip in any gear and the car runs fine. Any Ideas. thought it may be the clutch
Yeah, clutch probably.
very very tidy! Id seen this for sale and hoped it would turn up here

cheers, its going to be even tider soon, due in the body shop on thursday to get dack driver door, boot lid and bonnet sorted then their wont be an drop of rust on her. It has three cracks on the dash which you cant see if you are driving but can from outside. What could have caused this, a bump or the sun dont have a clue and does not look like its been in a bump. any clues
been on kks golf members site and they inform me this is a comon problem and the dash cracks very easily, they says its very easy to fit a new dash.
I’ve sourced a new dash and new front bumper with red trim to match the rear, they will go on and in come the next sunny weekend.
I got some new foot mats from VW and they really pull the interior together. Also stuck in some original speakers in the rear, 20 years old and still pumping.
Black badges front and back coming soon and then no more chrome.
Almost has a full vag service history, im missing 03 to 08, gutted.
