I bought them from this German company, this is the second set of tyres I have got from them and I am quite impressed with the price and also the speedy delivery.

They were very good value at 168 euros for 4 including the p&p to Holland.

I had marangonis on mine for the last 2 years – was quite impressed with grip and they last forever. I couldn’t wear them out – every time I got close they replaced them for free cos they had lifetime guarantee!

Update as of 18 June 2007

Here is a copy of the correspondence I have had with Marangoni Germany over the last week.

    Wednesday 13 June 2007
Hallo, I am writing to you as I cant find a Marangoni office in the Netherlands
I bought and fitted a set of 4 195/50 x R15 82V Linea zeta tyres less than a year and a half ago, recently one failed the yearly statutary APK (TUV/MOT type) test due to having a series of air bubbles in the sidewall, there were no visible scuff marks to indicate any kerbing,
I bought and paid for a replacement Linea Zeta tyre, but I now notice that a second tyre also has an air bubble in the sidewall, again there are no visible scuff marks which would indicate that it has been kerbed
As my car has done less than 12000 kilometers since these tyres were first fitted, approximately 1/2 on your summer tyres and 1/2 on its winter wheels/tyres, I find this (6000 Kilometers) a totally unacceptable tyre life, and wonder how far the sidewalls are from bubbling on the other tyres?
Can you tell me if your double warranty exchange applies in the Netherlands?
and if so how do I make a Claim?
btw the first 4 tyres were bought from Delticom.de & the replacement from autobandenmarkt.nl
    Regards, Chris S

Dear Chris, For normal you have to contact your supplier, Delticom has to handle a claim. If possible please send a Foto to my adress and I will take a look on it. After this I will decide how to go on. Regards Uwe

Hallo Uwe, Thank you for your reply, please find enclosed a few photos of the 2nd tyre, I will try and make some better photos later, Ironically in on this tyre the bulge is centred on the words ‘safety warning’,
I have to go to the tyre centre to see if first tyre has been disposed of yet or if I can get the back. mfg Chris

The new tyres arrived this morning and will be fitted next week when I have the car out of the garage and back on the road.

Ps, Could you imagine the response from say Dunlop, Michelin, Goodyear, etc if they were asked the same question?
I think the 2nd word of their reply may have been ‘off’

fair play – lol yes I can imagine what other manufacturers might have said…

    > whats this, tyres replaced for free cos u worn them down???

they were not actually replaced cos of the wear – seemed to be random damage (also to the sidewall as it happens) about halfway through their service life – i never actually saw them wear out.
