ParticipantHi all, trying to fit my cast iron TB onto a CSR gearbox and need help. I was under the impression that they would bolt up no problems but they don’t. The shaft is to long and is stopping it from sitting correctly?
Can anyone shed some light as currently it looks like I need 10mm shaved of the shaft to get it to fit.
Thanks in advance.

ParticipantHere is the original rallye TB and the TB from the CSR.
Cheers

Participantare these the same?
the rallye one appears to have its own oil. and the non rallye one looks to share the oil with the rest of the gearbox.
dont know if those are compatible. i know for a fact that the one on the left would run dry as hell with no oil in it 🙂

ModeratorThe Rallye gearbox bellhousing & transfer box were made with & also without oilways depending on the date of manufacture, obviously the two (with & without oilways) are not compatable with each other

ModeratorBTW I have here 2 of the 02C Rallye bellhousings both with & without oilways (1 of each) Either of these will convert an 02A (2wd) gearbox into a 02C 4wd one + I have a selection of Rallye cast iron transfer boxes also both with & without oilways, (3 of each) if anyone has any interest any of these items please e-mail me.

ParticipantHi, i was under the impression that i could bolt on the TB (pic on left, no oilway original rallye) to a CSR (VR6 syncro with oilway) gearbox, the pic on right is of the CSR transfer box. i was going to bung the oilways from the gearbox and use the original (rallye) TB but the shaft that goes through for the front wheels is 2 long and wont fit snug onto the gearbox. you can see the difference in pics the original has a bit on end where as the CSR one is splined to the end.
Chris i will be interested in a with oilway one if i know it will fit the CSR box.
thanks for looking.

ParticipantOk. Thanks Chris, how do I message from here? Any chance you can send me a pic or 2 of the with oilway TB, particularly the splined drive end as i ‘should’ be able to tell from that. How much are you asking?
Cheers

dazfxvwParticipantI might know what your problem is Ssaunders.
I’ve recently fitted a Golf G60 Transfer Box (not Rallye but same fitment) onto a modified CSR (VR6 syncro) gearbox.
