    rwd conversions have been done.

get a VW-ford adaptor bellhouseing. as used on kit cars. take a ford type 8 or mt75 box bolt 20vt to it. butcher subframe and driveshafts to take a bwm diff. cut and weld tunnel and floor to make room for gearbox

I was considerign this but deicded it would be easier to flog my gti and get a bmw for drifting instead…. plus when I smash it up it won’t have wrecked a precious syncro!

I know what you mean, but I’d love to see the faces of the drifting crowd if you did it in a golf! especially when you open the bonnet and show them a transverse engine layout.[:D]

get some skinny 80 section tyres on it!

I’d be interested to know how long the drivetrain lasts tbh…it would settle a long-standing discussion once and for all.

also – fair play to tay for starting such a vigorous debate lol looks like you’ll fit in fine ;)

maged to get it started but it dosen’t seem very keen on the idea of running well enough to drive it at the moment, fromt he sound of it atm i may have worn all the usefullness out of the motor, i’ll try some diffrent HT leads and plugs as i’m sure ive got some kicking around somewhere and giev the webber a couple of clouts and see if that makes any differance
