ParticipantABS ring that is!
I have bought new ABS rings for the rear driveshafts and have finally fitted them properly (push fit!). The CV joints are the proper one for ABS rings as well.
When I fit the driveshaft and start tightening up the hub nut I get probs. Basically as I tighten the hub nut, the ABS ring is causing everything to lock up, so the driveshaft wont turn, its locked tight.
Just wondered if anyone had any probs when fitting new abs rings?

ModeratorI have not had any problems with my ring fitting, [
]But lets recap on this for a minute,
1) Your car originally had ABS and you removed the original rings (not the first replacement ones)
2) When you fitted the new rings, did you change anything else? like hubs, CV joints, swing arms ABS senders etc,
do you have photos please?

I am fitting syncro running gear (ABS version) to my corrado (later model, so I need to get the ABS working for the MOT).
The driveshafts I have were off a non ABS syncro, I ordered some new CV joints (for cars with ABS) from GSF , theye were identical to my existing non syncro CV joints. So I have just re-used the old CV joints.
I purchashed new ABS rings, I also had the swingarms powder coated, I removed all the powder coating from the CV joint/ABS rotor goes.
The onlt hing I can think off is that GSF have sold me the wrong CV joints. I will take some pics of the joints (syncro ones and my GSF ABS ones) tonighte.
Really annoying as I have now trashed several rotors at neary £12 a pop.
If anyone has any picture of what a rear cv with ABS rotor should look like this would be much appreciated.
Thanks

ModeratorDo you have the correct ABS senders? there are 2 different lengths you know, VW in Edinburgh sold Mark the longer 2WD one and it mashed itself & the sender ring when he fitted it.
Ijust looked in my shed and I dont have any ABS rear shafts to photograph, Sorry

ParticipantThanks for the pics.
Chris you are a god amonst us mere mortals on this forum![
]I have been shafted by GSF, they sold me the wrong CV joints and they still have them advertised as rear inner CV joints for ABS models.
I will attempt to get my money back and either some new rotors or compensation, as their CV joints have mashed my rotors!
My GSF CV joints are completely different, can’t believe how many times I have been sold wrong parts during this conversion!
Think I owe you more than a few beers now![

]I do my best but I dont do it alone, we have a good community of Syncronauts on here, who will all help if possible

I will attempt to get my money back and either some new rotors or compensation, as their CV joints have mashed my rotors!I wish you luck on this
