got a hold of another hose now. and a new PG head
Nothing new to report, but I have decided to quit smoking.. have been smoking for 13 years, which is half my life
so, I’ve bought some nicotine bandaids today. have only had 4 Cigarettes today. makes me a bit agressive, but its not as hard as I thought (mostly because I get my nicotine trough the bandaids)
Hopefully I’ll pull this off. since a pack of sigarettes (20pk) over here costs (with the exchange rates today, over 10€ a piece) the bandaids are about $30 for 7, one week of use.
so there is money to be saved here
wish me luck. hopefully the golf will soon be done, since mye daily is going to the breakers either on thursday og friday
Good on you, stick at it!
After 35 years of smoking I had to give up 11 years ago, its one of the best things I have done as if I hadn’t I would not be here now.
Stick at it, it gets easier as it goes further.
finally, the engine is now leak free goodie
havn’t been to the garange in while now. but, its more or less finished now. only need to refill with coolant
and, i havn’t touched a cigarette since sunday evening

Nice one []
believe me, its hard. don’t know if i can see this through
just going to have to keep trying
Keep going, it does get easier (eventually)
soooo.. a little update
started smoking again, lasted almost 2 weeks
picked up the golf today. going to test drive it tomorrow (sunday) and drive it to oslo on monday. hoping it will get approved this time
a fun little car, pulls strong and no misfiring. no problems at all, only problem is my idler pulleys. which needs replacing since they sqeek and i hate that sound
and i need to get myself a lower 5th gear. i’m going crazy driving 100kph at about 2900rpm. should be down to atleast 2300rpm at 100kph in my opinion
so need to figure out from where i can get those wheels. should be easy to replace the 5th anyways with the transmission in the car. anyone got any tips on that matter?
Hi Dan, If you give me your FULL gearbox code, I will see what I can find here for you. []
AYR if i’m not mistaken
back from oslo. had the car on approval today
some good new,s and some bad news.
engine conversion is approved
Lowering kit is approved (only need to get the rear brake valve adjusted, and get documentation for that)
and i need to get documentation that the brakes will perfrom as good as the ABS brakes on the car (since my car was delivered with, i need documentation from the importer that it will function just as good)
so. i’m almost there now
about 450km driven today. calculated fuelconsumption is 9 to 10L/100km
it was a pain to drive on the class a freeway in 100kph. 3000rpm makes alot of noise
and here she stands, waiting for better days.. ohwell. one day it might get its license plates back
I looked in the shed & all the 5th gear sets I have are the same ratio as yours, you really need to change the diff ratio.
got i tip about a site which sells 5th gear kits

i don’t know my final-drive. so kinda hard to work anything out according to the ratios. need the final-drive to make the math work
