Participanti’ve got the stock golf beam.. i’ve looked at the passat one, width seems about right, but i did see that the bushings was different

but the control-arms should be the same as far as i know?
i’m most likely going to keep the golf beam, as this is better looking and less rusty

ModeratorGood idea, as as far as I am aware the aftermarket bushings will not fit the Passat rear beam. [

Participantthanks
but i’ve found out that i’m keeping the golf main beam
reason: the passat one is more rusty and ugly :pNovember 6, 2010 at 10:23 pm #7881Housey
Participantbtw chris, you know i was talking to you about the Torque on the VC. i meant the VC unit TO the diff. not the propshaft to the VC
but is 45nm still the value for it?

Participantwell.. bushings. its safe to say that they are severly worn
i could push them out with my hands (i’m talking about the main beam bushings, the ones on the control arms had to be burned out)
so. heres some pics of the bushings, or. whats left of them anyways
so. good thing i’m going to change them
not that there is too much movement in the rear beam. but new bushings are always good

ParticipantI had made some bushing out of alum.

Participantone thing is for sure, i’m NOT going to use alu bushings
i’m going to drive this car a bit too often for that. and i’m getting older by the minuteNovember 18, 2010 at 6:50 pm #7912Housey
Participantso. got my new bushings today. or. so i thought, but the brits sent me the wrong ones
i got the 4 small ones for the front subframe. mailed the seller, and he said to me to keep the ones i’ve got, and he would send the correct ones today
thats what i call customer service
candrenterprises1 on ebay btw. great ppl to deal with

Participantgot the brakelines on the mainbeam fixed today, hopefully they won’t leak

still waiting for my correct bushings. starting to assbmle it when they arrive
which should be sometimes next weekNovember 25, 2010 at 9:11 pm #7947Housey
Participantno bushings arrived yet
damnNovember 26, 2010 at 1:55 pm #7949Housey
Participantfinally, bushings arrived today
which is great, because i can now mount the rear main beam back onto the car along with the diff.and then run the brake lines from rear to the front of the car.
only waiting for the control-arm bushings now

Participantbending braklines to fit to the BPV is a real pain in the ass. that i can tell you right know
its easier since i don’t have the propshaft and exhaust in the way. but still very hard to make this look neat -
