oh yeah, changed all my lifters the other day did take som crappy phone pics. and should have taken even more. so i could make a diy on how to do it the fast and easy way :p
but that didn’t happen
well. things are sloooow these days still waiting for my application to pass at our dmv ..
and overhauling the G-charger (well. not me actually, but pascal will do it
Don’t worry, we’ll get you up and running within no-time. Hopefully the DMV will approve your setup, so
you can enjoy the car legally at last
Pascal
finally my application is approved only need to get it checked out. and then its all okay
the the golf will be changed from a 1990 Golf GT syncro 1990 to a Golf GTi G60 Syncro in the pinkslip. meaning its roadlegal with the conversion
Hurrah!
been a slow week all i’ve done is change the tie-rods still waiting for the boots for the steering rack. going to be a blast to install… gah.. the heatshield on the right side on the steering rack isn’t going to help much. but. ohwell..
almost everything is new in the front now
started a little project on the side today making room for 3 52mm gauges in the console
this meant a lot of cutting, grinding and plastic welding
came out pretty damn nice if i can say so my self
pictures are taken when i’m finished plastic welding, and pre bondo going to smooth it out and use some type of structure paint on it
hopefully i will look good in the end
only got some crappy phonepics tho. but, that has to do for now
did some more on the centre console today.
got it bondo’d. then sanded it smooth, doesn’t look smooth, but it is
test fittet the gauges ant took a pic aswell.. whats left now is some primer, then paint
i’ve only used plasticprimer in this pic, will still need normal gray primer then flat-black structure paint
gah, getting upset now. i’m in the middle of changing my tierods and steeringboots. rods are in, but the damn boots are a pita to install :S looks to me like i’m going to have to take out the complete steering rack damnit
oh, and i’ve got some leaky PS tubes. anyone know what the size the o-rings are? can’t find them in etka. its the small ones that are on the small tubes which are mounted ON the rack, not the ones that feeds the rack with fluid
took the front subframe out today. had to do it inorder to change my steering rack boots (damn TRW ****)
cleaned the rack. and took the subframe with me, going to give this a good cleaning aswell
and, while i’m at it, i’m going to take the angle-drive out, and apply some silicone sealant to it. i didn’t do that when i opened it which i get to pay for now. since i’ve got small leaks around where the casings are mounted together..
hopfully the angledrive won’t give me any hassle. since its not a long time since it was opened
oh well. a lot of boring work, that has to be done. wasn’t very leaky to start with, but have gotten more and more leaky as the time has progressed
which reminded me, there is no gasket surface there. only an O-ring .. damn i didn’t change that when i pieced it back together
anyone got any input on my leaky leaky tranny?
tell more, and you will get input
yes, you need O rings
